I¡¯m not an academic superstar. I didn¡¯t
have a 4.20 GPA, I didn¡¯t have a perfect 1600 score on the SAT, I didn¡¯t have
800¡¯s on four SAT II Subject tests, nor was I an exceptionally talented writer.
All I had was a passion for what I did and a yearning for a higher education. I
had a story to tell—I just didn¡¯t know how.
Meeting David was a game changer.
David served as a friend, a mentor, and
even a therapist at times; he guided me throughout the stressful college
applications process with his 15+ years of experience and an intuitive insight
into illustrating a clear picture of me in the essays. When I panicked over the
amount of work we had to complete, he would give us carefully thought out and
personalized strategies. When I had concerns regarding my college list and felt
lost in the plethora of information, he would gladly share his own experiences
and the wisdom he¡¯d accumulated for years. The weekly meetings I had with him
felt relaxed, rather than obligatory or stressful. This enabled me to explore
my identity and use this opportunity to reflect on myself while I was about to
make the biggest decision I¡¯d face as a high school student. I could
confidently say that working with him got me into my dream school, and catalyzed
me to grow into the best possible young adult version of myself.
I will guarantee you, you can place your
trust in David. This comes from a very picky person; my parents had given me a
number of choices in consulting companies. I had rejected all of them, until I
met David once and I knew that he was the one I was going to work with.
The reason that I was hesitant to hire a
personal consultant was in concern of risking my integrity and violating my
personal moral codes. With Stanford Academy, this will never be your concern
because David will never try to change you in any way or try to use shallow
gimmicks. Through casual conversations, he pulled out the best qualities in me
and my experiences, then used his expertise to highlight those aspects in my
applications. Working with him enabled me to build a prominent ¡°spike,¡± helping
me to stand out amongst hundreds of other superstars.
David cares. Oftentimes
the biggest make-or-break factor in selecting applicants is their sincerity. I
mean, Ivy League colleges could easily fill up their classes with stat-perfect
students, but we all know that¡¯s not the case. You can see that this really
does boil down to the students¡¯ authenticity. Because David builds genuine
relationships with his students, he¡¯s able to make your words polished yet
authentic in every way.
If this sounds like what you want, he¡¯s
your guy.
