Although I had previously attended multiple different SAT schools (학원), there were none equal to Stanford Academy. I had been concerned Stanford Academy would also be ineffective. However, after one week, I was completely assured that here I could not only learn the answers and methods but more importantly also give me a mindset that would prepare me for any challenge. Stanford Academy provided me with highly qualified teachers who taught exceptionally with effective methods. With his easy-going and friendly demeanor, Jason Nam, the Writing teacher, made himself readily available to the students whenever they needed help. He taught us key points in writing an essay and guidelines for the Writing section which was crucial in improving our SAT scores. Grasping the different writing styles of each student, he spent personal time discussing every essay with the student pinpointing the improvements that could be made. Thus, all the students noticeably improved on the Essay and Writing problem sections every practice SAT test. The Critical Reading teacher, Kay (Kwangjin) Lim, was committed to answering every question in a careful and comprehensible way in which students would be comfortable and thoroughly understand his explanation. His specific rules when reading SAT passages resolved my struggles in the Critical Reading sections. As a student, I was relieved that his feedback was consistently uncomplicated and clear. His willingness and openness caused my desire to learn and grow. Due to Stanford Academy’s professional instruction and efficient staff, I was able to raise my SAT score more than 300 points. Stanford Academy exceeded my ideals by being a highly organized system and providing competent instructors. The time at Stanford Academy has been the most worthwhile summer ever spent.
